The village of Capomulini is located at about five kilometers from Acireale. This seafaring village, which borders the northern side of Catania Gulf, until the Middle Ages was the “old” Acireale.
With the growth and economic development of the town, the aristocratic families and the middle class decided to move the center of the town in a more protected area. For those visiting the area a “must” not to miss is the picturesque natural harbor along with the typical fish restaurants. Interesting, even from the historical point of view, is the Tower Sant’Anna, today lighthouse, which dates from the late sixteenth century and the church of Santa Maria della Purità that dates back to the sixteenth century.
